What is WhisperTyping?

WhisperTyping is a speech-to-text application for Windows that lets you dictate text anywhere on your computer using advanced AI speech recognition. The transcribed text is automatically typed using a virtual keyboard, so it works in any application.

Does WhisperTyping work offline?

WhisperTyping requires an internet connection because speech recognition is processed in the cloud for optimal accuracy. This allows us to use the most advanced AI models without taxing your computer.

Which languages does WhisperTyping support?

WhisperTyping supports over 50 languages, including Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and many more. You can find the full list of supported languages in Settings → Vocabulary.

Can I use WhisperTyping in any application?

Yes! WhisperTyping uses a virtual keyboard to type the transcribed text, so it works in any application where you can type—word processors, email clients, web browsers, chat applications, and more.

Subscription & Pricing

Is there a free trial?

Yes, WhisperTyping offers 20 free minutes per 30-day rolling period to try the application. Visit our pricing page for pricing details on unlimited subscriptions.

What subscription tiers are available?

WhisperTyping offers four tiers: Free (20 minutes per month), Personal, Professional, and Medical. The Personal, Professional, and Medical tiers all include unlimited transcription minutes. Professional adds Ultra accuracy mode and advanced features, while Medical includes medical transcription optimized for medical terminology.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage your subscription from your account settings in the app (Settings → General). You can also contact us through our contact page for assistance.

What are the system requirements?

• Windows 10 or Windows 11
• A working microphone
• Internet connection
• Minimal disk space (~300MB)

Where is my data stored?

Your dictation history and transcripts are only stored on your local computer. WhisperTyping does not store your audio or transcripts on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is handled.

How do I update WhisperTyping?

WhisperTyping automatically checks for updates. When a new version is available, you'll be notified and can install the update with one click.

Why does my antivirus flag WhisperTyping?

Some antivirus software may flag WhisperTyping because it uses keyboard simulation to type text. This is a false positive—WhisperTyping is safe to use. You may need to add it to your antivirus whitelist.

Features

What are AI Modes?

AI Modes are optional features that use AI to enhance your dictation. You can say "Write an email about..." to compose polished text, "Rewrite this more formally" to edit selected text, or "Open YouTube" to launch applications. Learn more on our AI Modes page.

Can I customize the activation hotkey?

Yes! You can set the toggle key, hold-to-record modifier keys, and even enable mouse wheel activation in Settings → Activation.

What is the Vocabulary feature?

The Vocabulary feature lets you add custom words, names, technical terms, and context to improve transcription accuracy for specialized terminology. Configure it in Settings → Vocabulary.
